Operatic performance as Campbell strike Gold at Ayr


Winners of the first three Ayr races today are Stephen Mulqueen with Progress drive, Brian Hughes with Daytripper and Callum Bewley with Lochalsh.

With the event now well underway, here are the results for races four and five.

Race 4

The 1.45pm Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Handicap Chase was won by Blair Campbell and Gold Opera at 8/1 at 4m 38.60s.

Blair stepped up his game from his last race on Thursday, where he secured a third place position with Marcus Antonius.

Brian Hughes once again made the top three with Spanish Fleet the 2/1F.

Jake Greenall came third with Premier Grand Cru at 6/1.

Race 5

Brian Hughes and Titian Boy won the 2.20pm The Racing UK Day Pass Just £10 Handicap Chase at 5/6F.

Jamie Hamilton and Danehills Well followed this as a close second at 9/1.

Lorcan Murtagh and Trouble in Paris came third at 16/1.

Next up is the Chase (A Novices’ Limited handicap), followed by Racing UK HD Intermediate Open national Hunt Flat race at 3.20pm.
