Rangers midfielder Nikolas Raskin could pick up his first piece of silverware in dark blue less than a month since in arriving in Govan.

Raskin will lineup in Michael Beale’s first cup final as a gaffer as he bids to get the first trophy of his Ibrox tenure.

The Belgian midfielder is likely to face up against Celtic skipper Callum McGregor in the heat of the battle in the ViaPlay Cup Final and can not wait to sample the atmosphere.

Talking to Rangers TV he said: “Everybody is talking about the cup final now, and I can’t wait to be there and feel the atmosphere of our fans.”

Rangers skipper James Tavernier, could have a busy week having already notched his 100th rangers goal with a spectacular double in the game against Livingston, scooping man of the match and a place in the WhoScored.com Team of the week. Before being inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame alongside goalkeeping stalwart Allan McGregor.

Beale’s first chance of a trophy as Rangers manager hangs in the balance amid an injury crisis.

The former QPR manager has a selection dilemma just days before the ViaPlay Cup Final.

For the 3-0 win over Livingston at the weekend Beale was without first teamers Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack and John Lundstrum, as well as fan favourite Malik Tillman and it looks as though they will miss the showpiece occasion against Celtic.

Beale’s chances of lifting the trophy won’t come without its challenges as he faces the task of fielding as strong a squad as possible, to compete with their fiercest of rivals.

The Gers fielded an inexperienced bench in their recent match against Livingston featuring teenagers, Adam Devine, Leon king, Zac Lovelace and 16-year-old Bailey Rice who was handed his debut.

But it is unlikely that they will be called upon come Cup Final day, as Rangers hope to have the likes of Arfield, Jack, Lundstrum and Tillman at least on the bench.

It will most probably be an unchanged starting 11 at the national stadium but the back up brigade may have a different look come Sunday.
