Ayr United travel to Auchinleck Talbot in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup this weekend in an Ayrshire derby.
The tie marks the first time that the two clubs have met at this level and the television cameras will be there to record the historic occasion.
Ayr will go into the game as favourites with Ian McCall’s side enjoying an excellent league campaign which sees them currently lying 2nd, three points behind leaders Ross County although they do have a game in hand.
Auchinleck are having a fine season as well and are 3rd in the West Region premiership. Talbot will be hoping to emulate their success from last years Scottish Junior Cup in which they picked up their 12th title.
The commercial manager at Ayr United, Graeme Miller provided an injury update to our reporter George Connolly on star striker Lawrence Shankland:
“I spoke to the man last night and he doesn’t know himself. He’s going to try and train tomorrow so we’ll see.”
