Greg Hartley is now the new first-team Goalkeeping Coach for Oldham Athletic Football Club, having originally joined in the summer of 2017 intially to work with the academy. He assisted the first team of Oldham last season whilst also still playing football to a decent standard at semi – professional level.
It all started for Hartley as he progressed his way through the Manchester City academy and won the FA Youth Cup in his early years. In 2008, he turned professional at City and played alongside Kasper Schmeichel and Joe Hart.
In total, he spent ten years with the club before moving to America for seven years.
Whilst in America, Hartley studied at Georgia Gwinett College as well as continuing to play football at semi-pro level with Chattanooga Football Club.
Now a coach for League two side Oldham Athletic, he hopes to pass on his many experiences of playing and coaching at the highest level to help Oldham progress up the table and leagues.
