Worry for pet owners as bonfire night approaches

 Pet owners across the UK have voiced their concern for their pets after an 18 week old terrier in South Yorkshire suffered a heart attack triggered from firework noise.

A spokesperson from PDSA stated that  7.3 million cats and dogs (34% of cats and 40% of dogs) are afraid of fireworks, making pets anxious and miserable throughout the firework season. 

A local dog owner. Chrisanne shared her concerns:  “Very distressed, all over the house looking for some place to comfort him- and that was just a few fireworks behind the house”

Lorraine Jardine from Islay Dog Rescue urges the public to sign petitions to ban fireworks from public sale.
