TRNSMT festival has announced its line up for this summer’s festival on Glasgow Green, with the Arctic Monkeys joining the list of headliners .

The band will join the likes of Liam Gallagher, The Killers and Stereophonics who have already been named as this year’s top acts.

The festival, which is returning for its second year will run over two weekends: Friday June 29 to Sunday July 1 and Friday July 6 to Sunday July 8.

The Arctic Monkeys will headline on Sunday July 1 and other performers on Sunday are Interpol, Blossoms and Miles Kane.

The head of event’s organisers DF Concerts, Geoff Ellis said: “DF Concerts are thrilled to bring TRNSMT fans Arctic Monkeys as our opening weekend’s final headliners, we’ve wanted to have them back in Scotland for a while now and can’t wait to see what their set will bring.”

With other acts such as, The Script, Franz Ferdinand, Courteeners and Wolf Alice the line up for this year’s festival is sure to bring together music fans of all ages.

Pre-sale tickets for this year’s must-see music event go on sale this Wednesday, January 31 until February 2 at 9 am and early bird tickets go on sale this Friday, February 2 and tickets are available from: TRNSMTfest.com

The Glasgow Green event has taken the place of Scotland’s well loved festival T in the Park. Last year, the event attracted more than 120,000 festival goers, with even more expected this year.
