Hamilton Accies Ladies assistant manager, Bobby Watson, has said he “can’t wait” for the season ahead.
With the new Scottish Building Society SWPL campaign beginning in two weeks the team is looking forward to getting on to the pitch and playing games.
Watson said: “Last year we stayed in the top flight with games to spare and had a really positive finish beating Rangers. This year we want to get a better points tally and see where it takes us.”
The women’s team has a tough start to the season with two away games in the first three weeks: the first against last year’s undefeated champions, Glasgow City and then Stirling University.
Hamilton begin their season, however, with a home tie against newly promoted Forfar Farmington at the SuperSeal Stadium.
However Watson hopes their ambitions can be matched by their improvements during the pre-season training and matches.
He added: “We are an ambitious team and we want to improve and get better but we also have to grow and build naturally and sustainably.”
