COVE RANGERS don’t care who they are paired with in today’s Scottish Cup 4th Round draw – They’re happy just to be there.
The Highland League outfit stunned the nation on Saturday as they recorded a 3-2 victory away to Airdrieonians.
They could now find themselves facing the likes of Celtic, Rangers and Aberdeen who enter the competition at this stage.
Club Spokesperson, Duncan Little, insists the Highlanders have no preference over who they face next.
“We’re just happy to be in there and we’ll take what comes.” He said.
“In the past I’ve sat there saying ‘I wouldn’t mind this, I wouldn’t mind that’ and I’ve always been let down so I’ll just see what comes”
Little reckons the victory in Lanarkshire acts as a milestone for how far Cove have come over the past few seasons.
He continued: “When you sit and reflect on it, it was an excellent result because Airdrie are a big club in Scottish Football and always have been.
“We went down there 9 years ago and got well beaten 3-0 so it’s good to go back down again. We’ve improved so much since then.
“The boys never gave up, it was great. We battled away and got the reward at the end.
“It’s absolutely brilliant, it just raises the profile of the whole club.”
The Scottish Cup 4th Round Draw takes place at 4.45PM and is broadcast live on Sky Sports News.
