PARTICK Thistle are at home to Celtic tonight (Dec 9) in the Scottish Premiership as the Glasgow sides meet for the first time this season.
Thistle have no new injuries, however Ryan Scully, Mustapha Dumbuya, Stuart Bannigan and Gary Fraser all remain sidelined for the derby.
Meanwhile, Celtic’s James Forrest is a major doubt after picking up a hamstring injury on Tuesday night during their final Champions League game against Manchester City and Scott Sinclair and Kieran Tierney are still out.
On the back of European duty, the Scottish champions are expected to rest some players and rotate the squad and this may see chances for Gary MacKay-Steven and Leigh Griffiths to make their mark.
The last time Celtic and the Jags met was in March when Celtic ran out 2-1 winners, and the away side are heavy favourites again, having not lost to Thistle in 21 games.
Celtic will look to continue their unbeaten domestic run tonight, but with the fixtures piling up, victories need to be worked hard for as Motherwell showed last week, Celtic nicking it at the end to win 4-3.
Thistle could go bottom of the Premiership this weekend unless they can cause an upset at Firhill as Alan Archibald’s men are level on points with Inverness Caledonian Thistle who play Hamilton tomorrow.
With Thistle failing to win any of their last four games, a result against a rampant Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic may be too much to ask.
