POLICE in Renfrewshire are appealing for information after a man was robbed in Linwood on Friday.
At around 2:20pm, December 2 a 26-year-old man was attacked by two men and robbed of a three figure sum of money whilst walking along the cycle path between Linwood and Johnstone near to the underpass at Muirhead Drive.
The victim sustained injuries to the head and hip and was treated at the Royal Alexandra Hospital but has since been released.
The suspects are described a male, white, 25 to 30 years of age. One was of medium build, wearing a dark woollen hat, a dark woollen scarf, which covered most of his face, a red baggy waterproof jacket, blue jeans and dirty white trainers.
The second man was wearing all black clothing, including a skip cap, scarf, tracksuit and footwear. They both ran off along the cycle path towards Johnstone after the robbery.
Detective Inspector Suzie Chow, Paisley CID, said: “The man was heading into Johnstone Town Centre along the path when he was attacked by the two men. Despite sustaining a head injury, he managed to get home where police were called.
“The cycle path is a well-used route and I am sure the attackers would have been seen in the area by others either at the time of the attack or before it happened.”
Anyone with information should contact the CID at Paisley Police Office via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and details can be given in confidence.
