Former England international, Darren Bent was a teammate of Gerrard’s on the international stage.

Darren Bent scored a number of goals in the premier league, his most famous, or infamous, one being the ‘beachball goal’ against a Liverpool team that was captained by Steven Gerrard.

He has expressed his interest in joining Steven Gerrard’s overhaul of Rangers.

“You’re talking about one of the biggest clubs in football in Rangers” Bent said in an interview with TalkSport.

Bent has been looking for a permanent club after being released by Derby at the end of last season.

“To get the opportunity to go and play up there- definitely” Bent told TalkSport
