Rangers women’s team manager Leanne Crichton overseen her side’s 11-0 victory over the Scottish Women’s Premier League’s basement side Hamilton at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
This marked her side’s return to winning ways in the league after two harmful defeats to title rivals Glasgow City and champions Hibernian.
She praised her sides “ruthless” streak and their “professionalism” during the rout at Ibrox, the final match ahead of the upcoming women’s international break.
Crichton herself is no stranger to the international stage, having been capped 72 times for the Dark Blues throughout her distinguished playing career.
Speaking after her side’s dismantling of Accies she spoke about what advice she would be giving to her players heading off to represent their nations, particularly the younger members of her squad.
She said: “Go and enjoy it and know that you can be competitive.
“You want to thrive and pulling on the jersey for your national team should be one of the proudest moments in your career.”
She touched on some regrets of her own. She said: “When I look back now, there were too many moments that I allowed to pass me by.
“I didn’t live in the moment enough in as much as I want my players to strive to go and play and perform.
“Bit ultimately, they should be enjoying it.”
Despite this, she did indicate that the break had come at a less-than-ideal time for her Gers side who had only just returned to winning ways, and wished they could continue that momentum.
“I wish the Hearts game was next week and not in a couple of weeks’ time,” she said. “It’s hard to find consistency with the international break.
“I’d love for us just to keep plodding on from here and looking to try and drive. But we’ll just need to bide our time and be patient.”
