After the sacking of Jon Dahl Tomasson the Swedish National team is looking for a new manager and Aberdeen’s Jimmy Thelin has come out as a potential candidate for the jon.
Aberdeen haven’t had the best start to the season, only winning one SPFL fixture so far. Which begs the question: Do the fans want him to go?
Phil Miarniac, co-host of Aberdeen podcast Red Tinted Glasses said: “I don’t think anyone would begrudge him going. Personally I don’t want him to go I really like Jimmy. Obviously brining the cup back up North is probably something that especially with fans of my generation is going to stay with us for a long time.

“There are signs that things might be starting to click a little bit and our season might be getting back on track. I would like to see what he could get out of this group of players going forward.”
In terms of a wider support base I conducted a poll on TikTok to see how the supporters were feeling about the situation and whether they thought he would leave.
The poll turned out to be closer than I thought with 135 votes in total 43 percent thought he would leave and 57 percent thought he would stay.
Mairniac remarked on whether he would leave: “Maybe he does view it as a clean break and a now or never situation. At the same time having met Jimmy on a few occasions he seems like a genuinely down to earth bloke who is all in on the this project.
“He seems to be the type of manager who does have a little bit of integrity and doesn’t want to leave a job unfinished. I know when he was at Elfsborg there were rumours of him being touted by the Swedish FA for the job and he didn’t take it then. Personally for me I can see him holding off on it for now.”
It’s a bit of a mixed reaction from the supporters but the overall consensus is they want him to stay and they think he will stay.
