As the Polling Stations on the penultimate day open and get busier across America the race to be the next U.S President seems to be closer than many people anticipated.

The expected stroll back into power for Donald Trump is not happening and CBS News have reported that the polls look to be very close.

As the day continues, plenty of twists and turns are expected, live updates can be found by CNN (Cable News Network) on politics/live-news/2024-election-trump-harris/.

Another twist in a plot that is hard to figure, is that both Presidential candidates are able to vote for themselves!

Harris will vote later as she is based in California and Trump is expected to make his vote soon.

The last votes are set to be taken in at 1am (November 6) in Alaska, which is approximately 9 hours ahead of UK time.

Even when they are all in, American citizens will still face an anxious wait to find out who the next President is.

In the midterms of 2022, it took eight days after the last votes for them all to be counted and final ratification is not announced until January 6.
