Six times gold medal winner Sir Chris Hoy has announced he has two to four years to live after his cancer has spread to his bones.
The tragic news comes just over a year after he first spoke publicly about his diagnosis of prostate cancer in September 2023.
Prostate Scotland’s website states their mission is to ‘inform, educate, support, campaign and advance on prostate disease in Scotland“.
And it is hoped that the Olympian’s openness will encourage more people to get themselves checked.
The Scottish charity want to highlight awareness and access to treatment, increase the position of prostate cancer in government policy agendas and continue the support for sufferers and their families.
In Scotland it is targeted that there are no more than two months (62 days) between the date the hospital receives an urgent suspected cancer referral and the start of treatment, according to Cancer Research UK.
You can call Prostate Scotland at 0131-603 8660.
