Ayrshire teenager Ava Morgan has been crowned the latest winner of Miss GB.

Over the weekend the 79th annual Miss Great Britain competition took place in Leicester.

Ava, who has also qualified as Miss GB Edinburgh, has raised £21,000 for charity in her efforts to win the competition when she created a campaign called BeBoob Aware to raise more awareness of breast cancer.

The contest has been marred with controversy over the years with many seeing the event as sexist and outdated and uwsnews asked several people their thoughts on the Miss GB competition. Here are their thoughts below:
