Scots kids attempting to kill their fellow children are on the increase according to a new Scottish Police Authority report.
Horrific figures show a surge in child on child violence soaring from five to seventeen in just one year.
Cops say that children now account for almost a quarter of all attempted murders where the failed killer has been identified while last year school-aged savages only made up seven percent of this figure.
The report goes on to say “most violence by children is targeted at other children” while the rest are attacks on their authority figures and those who try to help these would be killers such as care workers, teachers, emergency workers and even innocent retail staff.
The violence persists even on school grounds with fifty-two weapons offenses occurring within the gates of supposedly safe Scottish schools which is up from 43 during the same period last year
Eleven of these horrifying crimes were committed inside primary schools by students.
Even homicides perpetrated by under eighteens are up compared to last year with four murderous minors charged this year compared to three last year.
This data comes on the back of the first increase of antisocial behavior since COVID-19 driven by an increase in public nuisance calls which are up nine percent to the same time last year.
The majority of this increase comes from a rise specifically in threatening or abusive behaviour, which makes up more than eighty percent of all group six crime.
Tayside saw the worst of these antisocial antics committed with an increase of nearly thirty percent compared to last year.
The only group six crime of any to see a decrease at all was hate aggravated conduct including stirring up hatred. The rest however continue to rise.
Despite these figures, violent crime in under eighteens in Scotland is on a small decline from last year although this does not include attempted murder.
There were one-thousand-nine-hundred violent crimes that were committed by a child compared to two-thousand-three-hundred last year which is a decrease of less than a quarter percent.
The percentage of all violent crimes that were committed by children also fell by two percentage points.
So while overall violence among children is trending slowly downward, the worst of these crimes keep climbing.
