The mysterious storm threatens to bring winds up to 70mph and scattered rain showers, with lows of 7 degrees and over a 70% chance of rain. Storm “Dracula” is projected to swivel through Ireland and make its way down to Scotland over the later half of the week, bringing strong winds and downpours of rain, the Met Office have warned. For those looking to head out on Friday 31st, conditions are forecasted to be spurts of rain with the degree reaching 11 and dropping to 7 throughout the day.Scots are urged to pack an umbrella and layer up across the Halloween weekend as well as to monitor the weather regarding any outdoor plans.
Emma Lambert, 20, TV and Broadcasting UWS student explains “If we have to gue outside everyone’s costumes will get ruined and it will kill the mood a bit if we are all soaked too.”
Jack Meney, 19, Sports Journalism UWS student expresses “It probably won’t effect us if we are inside but in regards of travelling back and forth it will. We all might get soaked before even getting there.”
Whereas some students confirm the storm won’t effect them as much as others. This comes down to halloween losing it’s signiticance as people grow older.
Oren, 20, TV and Broadcasting UWS student states:” No, it won’t affect me as I’m not going out as I never do for halloween anymore, it will just be a normal Friday for me.”
Eva Reid, explains: “I don’t really care about the weather for Halloween weekend anyway. I don’t go out anymore for it, I will probably be inside anyways.”
Storm Dracula has varied opinions on whether or not it will live up to its name or swoop under the radar. Dressing up or not, Scots are sure to battle out this weather and make the most of this Halloween weekend.
