US financial support in the war in Ukraine has been paused by President Trump as the country “pause and review” its aid to “ensure that it is contributing to a solution.”

The decision will put more pressure on Europe and an EU emergency summit in Brussels has been arranged to discuss whether they can bolster their aid enough to replace the efforts from the States.

The Ukraine Prime Minister, Denis Shmyal, is determined to continue lines of communication with the Trump administration and the US as he believes it is crucial they continue to receive US military support.
