No golden man for UK movie stars

By Riordan Craig

IT WAS a disappointing night for the UK at the Oscars, with nominees missing out on major awards such as Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress.

Actor Ralph Fiennes was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Conclave, but ultimately lost out to American actor Adrien Brody for The Brutalist.

Felicity Jones, nominated for The Brutalist, also went home empty handed after Best Supporting Actress gong went to Zoe Saldana for Emilia Perez.

Elsewhere, Anora shocked at the Oscars. With a budget of just $6million (£4.7 million), Anora swept up five awards including Best Picture and Best Actress.
