THE endorsement of Donald Trump by former Democrat Robert Kennedy – a member of the Kennedy clan – has shocked many Americans.

The unexpected move by the politician has encouraged other expected Kamala supporters to commit to Trump as a candidate , despite some of the controversy surrounding his presidency.

In a statement released by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, the daughter of Robert Kennedy, she announced her backed of Trump in the upcoming presidential election.

While the country and the rest of the world await the outcome of this close-run content UWSNews spoke with one American living in San Diego who discussed his thoughts on the Kennedy stance.

Joseph Callaghan, 64, said: ”I’ve always been a democrat, but I’ve started to sway towards Trump the last few years. When you look at the democratic leadership over the last five years, and the way they have allowed Biden to represent Americans, it’s frightening. He can’t string a sentence together.

“Kamala Harris seems to avoid answering questions about policies. Everything she says when she is asked a question she diverts and never seems to have any substance behind her policies. There is a clear divide within the Democrat Party, it’s not what it used to be.

“There’s been more divide under the Biden administration, so I ‘ve lost all hope in Kamala being any better. I respect the Kennedy endorsement because Robert Kennedy has a proven track record when it comes to doing all he can to get America healthy again. We live in a very fractured time and I think we need someone with resilience and who doesn’t let anything keep him down, I’m voting Trump this year.”
