Tackling racism and creating a welcome environment at UWS

Today was wear red day for the show racism the red card organisation. A day were thousands of people across the UK donate and wear red to show support for SRTRC.

Kaela Mcdonald Nguah, who plays for Gartcairn and is employed by the organisation was at UWS today and spoke about what the org do and how they can help she also spoke about how womens football is pushing the boundaries with creating a welcome environment stating: “Every year is massive for us.. a big part of our delivery is education, educating people on why it is important to embrace people regardless of their culture, religion or race”

I also spoke to Lynsey, who works in the UWS gym, she spoke about how they strive to create an open and safe environment for all, she said: “regardless of your age your gender or what your trying to achieve we break barriers down”.
