The other side of the international break sees Saints and Killie meet in Paisley.
Stephen Robinson’s men will be desperate to end a six game winless sequence, meanwhile the Ayrshire side are bottom of the league after picking up just one point from four games.
One player in particular that the break would have hugely benefitted is Kevin Van Veen, who joined the Buddies on loan from Groningen until the end of the season.
The Dutch striker had a largely frustrating spell on loan at Kilmarnock where he managed only one assist in 13 appearances last season.
Robinson had Van Veen at Motherwell where he netted 40 times and contributed nine assists.
So, the Paisley faithful will be hoping that the former Fir Park boss will be hoping the 33-year-old can get back to that kind of form.

Mark Jardine of the Misery Hunters podcast had his say on the deadline signing. He said:”After six seasons in English football to only modest acclaim and prolificacy, Mother well fans hit the jackpot in 2022-223, watching the Dutch powerhouse smash in 25 league goals across a single campaign.”
Which brings us to deadline day at the Smisa Stadium and the ultra-last minute addition of Kevin van Veen on loan from Groningen. Van Veen embodies that discussion almost too perfectly.
Such excellence earned the hitman a return to his native Netherlands with Groningen, though that is where the purple patch seems to have halted for now.
A miserly loan spell with high-flying Kilmarnock last season bore no fruit, and his parent club were content to farm him out again this term”
Fellow St Mirren supporter Ryan Niven said: “I hope he can find his form under Robinson at Motherwell. His six months at Kilmarnock didn’t really inspire me. As always, though, a new signing will receive a clean slate.”
