Man struck by stolen car in Kilmarnock, as police launch probe for witnesses

A 43 year old man was struck by a car in Kilmarnock around 7:10 last Friday, on the 19th January on Mosshead Road.

Cops revealed that the the pedestrian was hit by a red Audi which was stolen from the Livingston area before being abandoned on an unclassified road between the A719 and B744, Tarbolton.

A police investigation is currently ongoing, with officers seeking out witnesses.

Detective Constable Ross Brierley said: “Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this incident are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“If you were in the Mosshead Road area on Friday night and witnessed anything suspicious or believe you can assist with our enquiries in any way, please get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone with private CCTV, doorbell cameras or dashcams to review their footage of the area and bring anything of significance to our attention.”

The man suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.
